More Otters

Sequoia Park Zoo SM14-559

Had the chance recently to get another crack at those otters at the new Sequoia Park Zoo’s “Watershed Heroes” exhibit. They’re still very tricky to capture. They move around quite a bit, and shooting them through the glassed in part of the exhibit is almost impossible, since the glass can significantly lower resolution. Once in a while, an otter will scramble up into the dry regions of the exhibit and go exploring. That’s the best time to capture the mercurial creatures. In these “dry” portions of the exhibit, you can photograph these impish sea dogs without the imposition of glass. Here’s the latest set of otter pics, first with a few shots taken through the glass:
